Women’s March Washington D.C. January 21, 2017

“We recognize that we are collective agents of history and that history cannot be deleted like web pages…This women’s march represents the promise of feminism as against the pernicious powers of state violence. An inclusive and intersectional feminism that calls upon all of us to join the resistance to racism, to Islamophobia, to anti-Semitism, to misogyny, to capitalist exploitation…The next 1,459 days of the Trump administration will be 1,459 days of resistance.” -Angela Davis

all the women gathering with pink pussy hats

the excitement in the air

so many young girls being part of a huge protest to stand up for everyone

some amazing signs that i saw:

i can’t believe that i’m still protesting this shit

trust women

love women

we will never stop fighting for what’s right

our bodies, our business, our rights

i am perfect

i stand with planned parenthood

rise

Hope

midwives for women’s rights

no human being is illegal

this is just the beginning

this is what democracy looks like

the singing and the chanting as well as the kindness from everyone there to gather and to have our voices be heard

this is what we are here for. The streets were flooding with so many people

walking up Pennsylvania Avenue with the inauguration stands still up from the day before and all of the seats being filled with women in pink pussy hats and families cheering.

It was a day of connection and coming together. It was a day of awakening and rising up. We will keep rising and keep fighting, because this is our country and we are not going back.

“we must scrupulously guard the civil rights and civil liberties of all citizens, whatever their background. we must remember that any oppression, any injustice, any hatred, is a wedge designed to attack our civilization.” FDR
